Although we are only in September, the end of 2017 is fast approaching. Soon businesses will start preparing for the Christmas season. Festive lights and trees will be put up, companies will be organising their yearly Christmas parties and importantly people will be jetting to destinations abroad for the winter holidays.
If you’re thinking about travelling between November and December this year in search of some fun, exploring and enjoyment abroad, here are a couple suggestions.
Agadir and Marrakech, Morocco
Only a few hours plane ride from the UK, Agadir and Marrakech will provide slightly balmy climates around 20 degrees for visitors. Travellers can enjoy the hustle and bustle of Jemaa El-Fna and haggle in the souks within Marrakech or chill by the beach, view the mountains and indulge in traditional hammam treatments in Agadir.
Phuket and Koh Samui, Thailand
Although far flung, the hotspots of Phuket and Koh Samui are a firm favourite for visitors wishing to enjoy a very warm climate during the winter. The turquoise waters, well kept beaches, stunning rock backdrops and welcoming locals will offer a relaxing Thai experience. On the exception of the Christmas dates, flights to Thailand are quite affordable during November and December so it would be a good chance to visit at a lower price.
The Christmas markets come into town in Krakow. The Rynek will be filled of market traders offering traditional winter themed and Polish products, some which can only be bought during the festive period. Visitors can feast their eyes on seasonal delicacies, confectionery, drinks and merchandise to remind them of their experience in Poland.
The Canary Islands
With a choice to visit one of the main destinations of Tenerife, Lanzarote, Fuerteventura or Gran Canaria, the Canary Islands continue to be a popular option for guaranteed winter sun during November and December. With temperatures remaining above 20 degrees and a short flight time from the UK, the islands will offer ideal warmth, leisure and comfort to visitors.
Looking at heading to the other side of the world for winter sun instead? Cancun will certainly provide amazing beaches, tropical scenery and great all inclusive resorts. It is definitely party time when in Cancun and you’ll be sure to receive a glorious tan whilst sunbathing. Aside from engaging in watersports and diving activities, visitors can opt for a trip to Chichen Itza and explore the ancient Mayan ruins and surrounding environments.
Unfortunately, it is rain season during the winter in Bali. However, it is the cheapest time to visit this tropical favourite. It is known for the rainfall to be short from time to time, so visitors may be lucky in avoiding the rain during their stay. This laid back destination continues to be very popular for travellers around the world with its stunning natural landscapes, warm all year-round climate, very affordable accommodation and amazing food.
The festive season starts quite early for Budapest. The annual Christmas market will be sure to attract global visitors to this popular European city. Alongside indulging in some local Hungarian food and sweets and taking up ice skating, visitors can opt for a warm dip in the public thermal baths around the city or take an evening city cruise to witness a lit up Budapest in all its glory.
Sal and Boa Vista, Cape Verde
Just east of Senegal in West Africa, Cape Verde will provide solid winter sun, pristine beach areas, warm waters and a good offering of activities for visitors to experience. With about 6 hours flight time from the UK, it wouldn’t take too long for you to experience the beauty of Sal or Boa Vista on this island nation. All inclusive options are offered to travellers wishing to descend on the islands to have a warm winter break.
